Juneteenth is less than a month away and in usual style, New York City is honoring the holiday with a great lineup of events such as but not limited to a parade, rooftop party, street fair and family reunion cookout. Whether you're looking to party, enjoy cultural performances, or just connect with the community, there's something for everyone and NYABJ has got you covered!

2. Paradise Sunset Rooftop Day Party – Juneteenth Edition  Sunday, June 15th at 3 PM  The DL (Lower East Side)  If you want to kick off Juneteenth weekend with good vibes, music, and beautiful rooftop views, Paradise Sunset Rooftop Day Party is the place to be. Entry is free with RSVP on eventbrite and this is rumored to be the best Rooftop in Manhattan, so tickets may go fast!




3. REPARATIONS! A Juneteenth Celebration of Black Improv Comedy Thursday, June 19th. Doors Open at 6:30 Tickets start at $15 on CAVEAT.NYC and  $18.76 on Eventbrite This show features talented Black improv artists bringing joy and insight. According to Caveat this is a  “Blackity Black Black Show! Celebrate Juneteenth with your host, Sydney Duncan. FYI- Sydney Duncan is a comedian from VH1’s Wild N’ Out!



Thursday, June 12, 6 PM: Black Kings Celebration at Major Owens Center

Saturday, June 14, 8:30 AM: Family Day Festival, Parade, Fashion Show, and Showcase at Linden Park/Gershwin Park

Virtual Summit: Friday, June 19, 9 AM: Virtual Summit This free festival is a great way of bringing the Brooklyn community together. It will feature live performances, poetry, local vendors, painting and more! It runs for 3 days giving guests a chance to enjoy all they have to offer. 


5. 32nd Annual Juneteenth Parade and Fair – Harlem Wednesday, June 14th at 12 PM, Harlem

If Brooklyn is out the way for you, there's also Harlem on the list! For the 32nd year in a row, come join the Harlem community for a lively parade followed by a fair filled with music and cultural showcases starting at 116th Street between Lenox and 5th avenue.



6.  Wednesday, June 19th from 12–8 PM, Roy Wilkins Park, Queens

Last but certainly not least, in Queens there will be a Juneteenth Family Reunion cookout. There will be live performances, giveaways, networking, food and more!  Juneteenth in Queens powered by the People advertises this event as “we celebrate the Black family reunion as a powerful symbol of love, connection, and cultural legacy. It is a time to honor the bonds that hold us together, the traditions that sustain us, and the joy that radiates from our shared experiences…”
