The New York Association of Black Journalists (NYABJ) is commemorating five decades of dedicated service, activism, and storytelling as a vital community organization supporting journalists across the New York metro area and beyond. To mark this historic milestone, NYABJ hosted an exclusive reception at the prestigious Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The event was attended by over 100 members including past presidents and board members, reflecting on the organization’s rich legacy and its ongoing commitment to advocacy and journalistic excellence.

NYABJ members enjoyed a private showing of the Superfine: Tailoring Black Style which explores the importance of style to the formation of Black identities in the Atlantic diaspora, particularly in the United States and Europe. The exhibit is on display until October 26, 2025.

Additionally, special NYABJ 50th anniversary merchandise will be available for purchase, allowing members and supporters to celebrate this momentous occasion on its website.
