The Living Legends Foundation celebrated its annual Living Legends Awards & Scholarship Gala on October 3rd, honoring the iconic figures who have left an indelible mark on music, television, radio, and entertainment. The event took place in Atlanta and served as a vibrant tribute to the cultural pioneers from the late 1970s through the 1990s.
This prestigious gathering showcased and recognized the trailblazers whose work helped shape the landscape of entertainment and who continue to inspire justice, purpose, and leadership. These legends not only defined eras of music and media but also blazed a path for future generations to follow.
Among those honored was Cynthia Horner, NYABJ's Member at Large a true icon in the industry. Ms. Horner is widely celebrated as the publisher of Right On! magazine, a groundbreaking publication that chronicled the evolution of Hip Hop, Rhythm & Blues, and Soul music. Although Right On magazine is no longer available in print, it's available through Right On! digital, continuing its legacy of documenting and celebrating Black music and culture.
The event served as a powerful reminder of the importance of recognizing those who have contributed to the cultural fabric of America. As the night concluded, attendees left inspired by the legacy of the honorees and committed to carrying their torch forward in the ongoing pursuit of justice and cultural excellence.
