Fushimi, the fun fusion sushi restaurant in Times Square, celebrated one year of exciting Japanese fusion cuisine with a big bash that featured a touch of pageantry, body paint, a DJ, and, of course, the delicious bites and cocktails from the menu. Conveniently located at 311 West 43rd St. near the theatre district, the event was attended by New York area media, food influencers, and Fushimi executives.
Fushimi Midtown has become one of the city's "hot spots" in less than a year. Upon walking in, one can instantly see and appreciate the beautiful decor that brings a touch of Kyoto to New York. It has certainly become a popular addition to the city's list of places to spend a fun and festive night out, whether for Japanese food with colleagues, happy hour with visiting friends, or a date night after a show. Fushimi Midtown is quickly becoming the sushi spot for the stars, having hosted some of the music industry's favorite personalities, such as Megan Thee Stallion and Jordin Sparks, who have dined there on separate occasions.
The menu at Fushimi Midtown offers a fresh exploration of sushi and other flavors of Japanese cuisine, including an array of interesting combinations in specialty rolls. For example, the Miso Chilean Sea Bass Roll features crispy sea bass with green apple inside, topped with crunchy sea scallops, sweet aioli, and saikyo miso.
NYABJ Pulse was able to speak with Timothy, the restaurant group's general manager, who shared some insight into the latest updates for the 2025 menu.
"We intend to update our menu offerings at this location to adapt to our patrons, who are primarily theatregoers and tourists," he explained. He noted that other Fushimi Midtown locations will remain with their current menus.
Next time you're in search of fusion Japanese food in New York, give Fushimi a try.
